Year 5: Boseman Class

A message from Miss Leitch:

Class 5

Term 6, 2022-2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you all had a fantastic half term break and that the children are excited for their final term in Year 5!

This term our enquiry question is "What significance did the Victorian Railways have in Britain?". We will be learning about how the development of the railway improved life by allowing people to go on day trips, brought in revenue and gave people access to various foods. We will learn about significant people and we will find out about "The Big Stink".

We have a new class book called "Street Child" and we will follow the adventure of Jim during the hard times of poverty in Victorian London.

We will be learning about puberty this term, including changes in the male and female body. If you would like further information about what we will cover in lessons please email the office and I will contact you to discuss.

PE is on Monday and Thursday. Please can children wear suitable clothing on those days. Children should wear a white t-shirt, dark coloured shorts or sports trousers, a dark jumper and trainers.

We will have a Victorian day where children can dress up as a Victorian school pupil. I will send more information regarding this in the next couple of weeks.

There is a new topic web and home learning menu available and if you have any queries or concerns please contact the school office and I will contact you as soon as possible.

I can't wait to get stuck in to all the wonderful learning term 6 has to offer!

Kind regards, Miss Leitch.
