Welcome to Beech Class!

I hope you had a wonderful summer and are ready for an exciting term ahead. This page will provide you with useful information, but please feel free to see me at the end of the day or send an email via the school office if you ever want to ask anything.

TAs

Our wonderful TAs are Mrs Saunders who will be in Monday to Wednesday, and Miss Reiff who works on Fridays.

PE

On Mondays, Year 3 and 4 will have PE together with Mrs P from Canterbury Academy.

From the week beginning 15^th June, Year 4 will be swimming on Tuesday afternoons. They need to come into school in normal uniform but bring their swimming kit.

On Thursdays, Year 3 will have PE with Tom Harris from 'Chance to Shine' (Kent Cricket scheme). Year 4 can join in on Thursday 11^th September before swimming starts, but once swimming begins, they will need to come into school in uniform on Thursdays.

Reading

All children now have an Accelerated Reader reading range, so will be coming home with their reading books and reading records daily. Please try to read with your child throughout the week and send their book and record in every day. Children can complete quizzes once they’ve finished their books to check their understanding.

Spellings

Spelling practice will take place daily at school. Children will be given a range of activities to complete throughout the week to improve their spelling and handwriting skills. Please see the Spelling document below which will show which spelling rule we’ll be looking at each week.

Topics

Our weekly timetable is at the bottom of the page. Please be aware that there may be days where the lessons need to be different due to staffing. I will make sure children who need support with change are told about changes when they arrive in the morning.
