Student Leadership
School Council
Selling School Council is a group of children (one per year group) elected annually by their classmates to represent all pupils in the school. They provide a 'pupil voice', allowing them to express their opinions and suggest ideas for positive change.
As part of their role this year, our school council have planned and created the sixth window for the village's Advent calendar, made 'Suggestion Boxes' for each of their classes and some of our councillors planned very perceptive questions to ask our new head teacher candidates.
Head Boy/Head Girl
Our Head boy and Head Girl support the Headteacher with tours for prospective parents. They also represent the school at external events such as the Church Remembrance Service. They are role models to the rest of the school and lead by example amongst peers.
House Captains
House Captains lead one of our four houses: Gambrill, Hickson, Beaney and Creed. Each week in Celebration Assembly the running total of House points are shared.
Wellbeing Ambassadors
This is a new role for Selling CE Primary School. Our wellbeing ambassadors work closely with adults across the school to ensure wellbeing within the school community is high. They work with the school council to listen to and share pupil voice. They provide a buddy system to some of the younger, vulnerable pupils at school.
Christian Ambassadors
Our Christian Ambassadors support the development, leadership and planning of our collective worships. They provide pupil representation and voice. They celebrate our Christian Values and lead by example to ensure they are embedded across all areas of school life.
Sports Leaders
Our sports leaders provide sports and play opportunities across the school. They lead group activities during playtimes providing activities for groups of pupils. They represent the school at external sports events.
