Our Core Aims

At Selling Church of England Primary School Breakfast and After School Club, we aim to provide a safe, secure and relaxed environment that offers a range of activities to reflect the interests of the children in our care. We aim to provide affordable childcare that delivers new experiences, strengthens friendships and builds lasting memories that support the development of all children who attend.

What we offer

Breakfast Club operates between 8:00am and 8:40am. Children are able to enjoy a healthy breakfast in a relaxed environment and engage in a range of activities with their friends.

The After School Club operates from the end of the school day (3:15pm) until 5:00pm, offering children a variety of activities such as role play, outdoor sports, yoga, board games, construction, physical play, cooking and a quiet space for reading and homework. Children are encouraged to take part in all aspects of the club, including preparing snacks, tidying up and supporting each other where suitable, to help foster independence. Both indoor and outdoor play will be available, depending on weather and seasonal changes, so please ensure children are dressed appropriately for outdoor activities.

We adhere to healthy eating guidelines and offer a selection of nutritious snacks, including fresh fruits and vegetables. Fresh drinking water is always accessible. Whenever possible, we aim to accommodate individual dietary needs. Please note that the food provided at the After School Club is intended as a snack and not a replacement for a main evening meal.

Staffing

Our Breakfast and After School Clubs are run by school staff who have experience working with children and regularly participate in professional development training. All staff members are DBS checked and staffing ratios follow best practice guidelines.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to speak with a staff member at the club. For more serious matters, please contact the school office to arrange a meeting with a senior staff member.

Club Booking

All childcare provision must be booked in advance, via Arbor and places are limited. If you need a place on the day, you will need to ring the school office to check there is a place available on 01227 752202. 

Opening Hours and Payment of Fees

Breakfast Club: operates during term-time only from 8:00am to 8:40am. The fee for each session is £3 per child and includes a light breakfast.

After School Club: operates during term-time only from the end of the school day until 5:00pm. The fee for each session is £3 per child up until 4:15pm or £6 per child until 5:00 (which includes a snack).

Late Collection and Assiociated Fines:

• The school shall apply the following procedures for late collections and reserves the right to apply an additional charge where a child/children are picked up late from the After School Club (5:00pm).

• Children who are late to be picked up by more than 15 minutes after the end of the school day (3:15pm) or late picking up from extra-curricular clubs (4:15pm), will be put into After School Club and a £3.00 initial charge will be made.

• If your child/children are not collected at the end of the 5:00pm session, then you will incur a late charge of £5.00 for each 30 mins your child/children are not collected.
