Term 5

Welcome to Chestnut Class! 

Your teacher is Mrs Jones and your TAs are Miss Hall and Mrs Palmer.

We value communication with our children's families to help provide the best support and education for your children. Please either speak to us at the end of the school day or contact us through the School Office if you have an queries, concerns or good news to share! 

Forest School

This term we are lucky enough to be taking part in Forest School on Thursday afternoons. Please ensure children wear appropriate clothing (as described on the letter) and have sun cream and hats if it is hot. 

PE

Our PE lesson this term will be on Friday. Please come into school wearing your PE kit (white t-shirt, black shorts/trousers, black jumper/hoody, trainers). 

Reading

We use Accelerated Reader to help children choose books suitable for their reading level. Children will bring their reading book home every day with their reading record to note down how many pages they have read. Please try to hear your child read at least once a week. Children need to bring their book into school every day, and once they have finished it they will be able to complete a quiz to assess their understanding. 

Spellings

New spellings will be given on a Monday. Children will practise them at school throughout the week and they will bring them home to practise in their purple spelling book. Please make sure the book comes back in on a Friday for them to complete their spelling test in.

Times Tables

Please encourage your child to practise their times tables using Times Tables Rock Stars.
